The Borderlands are generally referred to as this by the "Sovereign Nations" to those that live there it's generally considered home. The Borderlands are the areas of frontier on Talsidias which are far more dangerous than any place within Sovereign rule. The nations that occupy this area are usually small, or are city states with limited reach, just enough to defend their major settlements and little more. The Borderlands naturally are a place where outlaws and pirates of all flavors are generally speaking willing to gravitate to escape justice within Sovereign territories, extradition is most uncommon mostly due to the limited reach of each nation within the Borderlands often having much larger problems to deal with than someone that committed a crime elsewhere.

Is a city state thought to have been originally settled by Al-Farien. No one can say for certain though, such records were lost long ago in a great fire during the first Fracture. However it is run in a similar fashion to Al-Farien and has an arsenal of Golems and Warforged within it's walls. The Climate is a temperate rainforest type, with a great deal of swamps and wet lands.

Was one of the few colonies founded by Thanos, it is located in a great desert and is thought to be location from which mankind first came into the world. Or at least that is what the monotheist Thanosians believed. There are great monolithic spires in the center of the city, who's purpose remains as of yet unkown, their inscriptions remain untranslated as well. Contact with this colony was lost during the Second Fracture, though it has been restored interest in it's spires from Thanos faded as they were unable to translate.

Is a new territory being explored by Ranashier in the great frozen north. Ruins were discovered around fifty years ago during a mining survey to find Sunstones. The ruins appear to be around twenty two hundred years old from magi dating. No one knows to whom they belong, who made them or why. They are currently being excavated, by the mining expedition sent while surveys are continuing to go on in the region.

Is another Karistaari city state fully within the material plane. It is located upon a large peninsula in a largely cleared jungle. They city is home to the original Jaguar and Eagle Knight cults. They are perhaps the most aggressive out of all of the Karistaari pockets. They hold great value in their martial prowess. A proud warrior people are the Ixapayatans, and they are not the least bit afraid to take what they want from someone if they feel they can best someone in battle.

Karisfael means the Dawning City, it is the capital city of the largest Karistaari kingdoms. They warred with the Shadowkin and lost the city was recovered and placed half into the material plane and half into the plane of light the sky during the day is an almost constant sunrise with colors of the sky to match in a myriad wonderful display. At night the sky is a predawning one. The climate and geography in this area is a tropical rain forest, the city architecture is somewhere between ancient greek feeling (during the Naeturian occupation additions were made naturally) and a mayan city. They grow a great deal of maze, gather tropical herbs and craft exotic jewelry from gold, feathers, and semi precious stones. They have a limited use of metallurgy which is shown in their lack of swords, and heavy metal armors.

Is a relatively small city state in which expeditionary teams are largely based due to the city's location. During the height of the Aegirean empire this city was the furthest flung city from the capital, there had been places of course that could have pushed on from there bu the first Changing happened which between this and the Aegirean civil war broke the empire forever. Leaving this city as a foot note and future mark for smaller more independent expansions and expeditions.

Is a dwarven region nestled deep in the Lasonic mountain range. It is the largest Dwarven Thane on Talsidias nearly occupying the entire mountain chain. All dwarves are said to have their origins here. They lead a fairly structured society, and have quite a few clans within the range. Political control is done through a representative voe between each clan within a given mountain.

Is known to mortals as the Twylight City. It is just north of being equatorial. Incarnum flows and magic flow very strongly through this city and demiplane. It is the capital of the largest Naeturian kingdom. Half in the material plane half within the Plane of Shadows it is a demi plane. The Veil of Souls is rumored to pass through the city beneath the ground, as such many of it's residents are not of the living state. Ghosts and Spectres, and the occasional wraith are quite numerous.

Is a series of tropical island civilizations. They possess a very rich oral and written history. They have the most accurate calendar and have a great deal of ancestral magic and rituals. Given the climate a wide variety of herbal remedies are easily procured here, and several unique monsters also reside in this region or are most notably known to reside there. Such as the Coatl and the Gnurloc.

Is a remnant of an Aegirean colony and elven civilization. The jungles have encroached heavily into what was once a metropolis, diseases wars and emigration to other regions after the great Changing, dwindled the population substantially. The remaining population is tough, strong, and ever determined to return this place to glory once more. However they wish to do this together wars against each other and fought together alike and the shared sense of loss have given them a very strong sense of unity that is almost unparalleled. Half Elfs commonly come from here.

Is an artic country which is considered abit rough as it shares many traits with the climate on the outside. Cold, unforgiving grim. It's residents attitude shifts dramatically with the too brief summer that comes to the region they become almost festive and cheerful but determined to maximize the limited time they have of warmer weather, their crops yield quite abit larger than one might expect given the soil is very fertile and the summers are quite mild considering. They share this with the local dwarven population who trade this for gold and liquor. People from here tend to be thicker, and pale.

Is a city state within the Borderlands located on the largest waterfall known on Talisidias. Primarily it is a human and dwarven settlement though initially an Aegirean colony, it's ownership and independence ended and began during the Aegirean immigration period. The settlement as a result holds alot of old Aegirean ideology dialect and sense of economy. The Dwarves met the humans as they accidentally mined their way out onto the surface along the waterfall. The two city states are gradually making their way towards the middle of the waterfall which has several large ledges hanging out of it where buildings stand, in an almost stair case like fashion.

Is not so much a sovereignty as a loose affiliation of a race and geographical area. The Yok themselves are prized diplomats and trade brokers. They thrive on river and sea trade among the Borderland States, sharing a connection in particular to Zeritha. They are also renowned for their knowledge of the sea and water ways on both the surface and underground of Talsidias.

Is a kingdom with a monarchy as government, they are a smallish city state with a very strong black market mostly dealing in Aegirean goods. The "mafia" and the monarchy are one in the same. They are almost run by the other dons made with a concurrent vote and the 'king' has a final say on. Their trade empire spans many of the countries, Aegir, Al-Farien, Ranashier and Thanos to name the most major ones. They have no black market to speak of within their own borders as it's pretty much one in the same as the normal market making it hard to prove someone as selling "stolen goods" to say the least.
